Rebuilding In Progress....Please be patient

Hello!

After being royally screwed over by my image hosting website and having all of my photos held hostage until I fork over lots of money - I am having to reload all of my pics.

Please be patient as I get everything looking pretty again!

You Little Rebel.....A Hipster Birthday

Hello! I'm back with more Hipster love. I've been following the Hip for Summer hashtag on social media and love all the creative ideas and projects.

I decided to use my Hipster Monkey stamp with a cheeky sentiment stamp set to make this birthday card for a friends husband.

Here is the inside of the card....

The party hats & presents are stamped and die cut from the Crazy Accessories
Set from Stampers Anonymous and Sizzix I used Distress Oxides & a water blender pen to colour these. I love how well the Distress Oxides show up on the kraft paper.

I used Glossy Accents from Ranger on my Hipsters glasses.

Celebrate Hipster Dad

Hello & Welcome!
Fathers Day is just a couple days away and its always extra special because my dad's birthday is around the same weekend. It would be easy to make one card for both but I just can't so he gets 2 handmade cards. This year both cards are made with the Hipster stamp set from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous.

First up - A Hipster Fathers Day Card

Lots of Distress Oxides used with stamping, blending and watercolour techniques.

Next up - A Hipster Birthday Card
My Hipster Monkey doesn't look thrilled with his birthday hat - sort of how my dad would look too!

This year my Dad is turning 70 so we will have a "Legit Party".

Enjoy! Coffee Gift Card Holder

Hello crafty friends!

Nicole Wright & I had another crafty play-date this week.
We each needed to make a card to hold a Tim Horton's gift card - so, like we do on many occasions, we shared our stash. I love how we can use the same stuff and create such different projects.

Nicole brought a couple of her Sizzix dies - Eileen Hull Recipe Card & Label
 and Tim Holtz Fresh Brewed.

I had a package of patterned paper - Coffee & Tea Kit from Designs by Reminisce.
I picked it up at The Scrap Shack in Ponoka.

A few other shared items we used - mat board, Distress Oxides & burlap.
Here is the inside of my card where I adhered the recipe card die cut that holds my gift card.
The label die cut and gift card are held on with 3D adhesive squares.

Here is the front of the card -

Another Altered Book Journey

Hello my crafty friends! Welcome to my blog. As you can see by my lack of posts, the warmer the weather gets the less I craft. It's just too darn nice outside!

I am here to share another altered book....this one more of a diorama style.
I was inspired by this quote:

'I don't want to just read books, I want to crawl inside of them and live there.'

I love books.....all kinds of books but especially the old ones. The yellowed, musty pages and just so lovely. For this project I chose a 50 year old book on the "Principals of Economics". Snoresville, am I right? Perfect for taking an x-acto knife to and cutting a rectangle shape through the cover and about 2/3rds of the the way through the book.

I glued into my book a lovely forest scene from another old book that belongs to my craft bestie - Nicole Wright. I also borrowed her set of Stabilo 3 in 1 Woody Pencils to watercolour in my forest scene. These pencils are fantastic and keep their gorgeous bright colours even after they dry!

Once this was dry I closed the book and used a white glue to seal all the edges of the book. A giant clip helped hold everything together while the glue dried.

Once everything was dry I started building my scene with moss, and pieces of wood from my stash. I added a few Tiny Tattered Flowers and Leaves and some Paper Dolls.

The quote that inspired this project was made using words I found in a couple of books I had.

I am so please with how this turned out. Another home decor item to add to my book shelf.
