I chose the Holiday Style 12x12 paper pack & Holiday Style card pack for my project.
I absolutely love the rustic designs paired with the muted colours.
Gorgeous, right? I had a hard time choosing which paper to use because it was all so pretty!
In the end I ended up not using using any paper - my tag used 2 cards from the Holiday Style card pack.
I started with a sheet of kraft cardstock that I trimmed to 7.5" x 3.5". I cut a 2" circle at one end and scored it at 2.5" from the end with the circle.
I took the 3"x 4" Oh Deer card & rounded the bottom corners. I also used the 4"x 6" green Antler card and trimmed it down to fit the base of the tag & again rounded the bottom corners.
I then inked both cards and the kraft base first with Walnut Stain Distress Ink then Ground Espresso Ink with my round ink blending tool.
I spritzed the Oh Deer card and the kraft cardstock with some water for the droplet effect.
For the deer head - I first applied the green deco sheet from the Tim Holtz Holiday pack to some heavy card and die cut it out using the Dashing Deer die from Sizzix. I then inked the edges of the die cut the same way I did the cards.
To assemble my tag I used some score tape to adhere the Dashing Deer to the kraft cardstock at the score line. Next I stuck down the green Antler card and finally using some dimensional foam I stuck down the Oh Deer card. I added a bit of paper string and some brown sequins to the Oh Deer before I stuck it down.
My Dashing Deer was looking a bit 'naked' so I inked up some crinkle ribbon and tied it around his neck and added a Candy Cane charm from Emerald Creek.
I covered the charm with Candied Apple Distress Paint and roughly wiped some off once it had almost dried.
My finished tag is now done and ready to pop on to a wine bottle - perfect for a hostess gift!
