Freaky Friday Blog Hop - Scrap 'n Stamp

Witches and Goblins and Ghosts! Oh My!
It's Friday the 13th and I am joining  a spooktacular blog hop with Scrap 'n Stamp.

This month was team was asked to create a project using the new Paper Doll Pack - Ancestors from Tim Holtz Idea-ology. I love using the paper dolls! These are so much and can be used in so many different ways.

I chose to make a Halloween themed journal using the Sizzix Scoreboard XL Journal Die from Eileen Hull. I paired this with Graphic 45 - An Eerie Tale Paper pad and of course my Ancestors. I have named this witchy pair - Prudence and Winifred.

I made 4 booklet inserts using plain copy paper and Graphic 45 pattern paper for the covers.

I decided to decorate the cover of each booklet. Every good witch needs to keep track of her potions, spells, poisons and pumpkin pie recipes, right?

I used the Twisted Edge die and Distress Cardstock; scrap paper from the Graphic 45 Eerie Tale pack for the labels.

I had to include some more Ancestral Paper Dolls for the covers too.
I added a skull rub-on to the face of the boy on the Poison booklet.

Here is the finished journal with a few added metal charms from my stash.

Be sure to check our all the other ghoulish creations from the rest of the team:

The Jimmy Journal

Welcome back!
It has been a very eventful week around here.
I was very excited to have been asked by Sandy from Scrap Shotz to do a demo during the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival. It was a fun weekend hanging out with crafty folks.

Eileen Hull was a special guest and I was thrilled to meet her and see Scotty in real life. During the show I spotted Flat Jimmy Fallon in Eileen's cart and decided to abduct him. With the help of Nicole Wright we took Jimmy around the show floor taking photos.

This is where my idea for the Jimmy Journal began.
Of course, I had to the Eileen Hull Journal Die from Sizzix and the Strong & Free paper line and wood veneers from Wild Whisper.

I was able to give the Jimmy Journal to Eileen at the Journal 101 class she taught at Scrapendipity.
She loved it!

Get Distracted & Celebrate

Today was the first day in almost a week that I felt like getting creative. I have been fighting off a nasty cold/flu and it was a doozy. To get myself back into a creative groove I decided grab my Distraction Journal.

Click on the photo below to see how I created this journal.

I flipped through my journal, chose these 2 pages and gathered up some materials: Dylusions paints & mini layering stencils.

I applied some stenciled images randomly over both pages. At this point I had no idea where this was going - I was just enjoying the process.

I am really enjoying using mask & silhouette stencils at the moment but I only one set and it was too big to use for these 7"x 5" pages so I decided to make my own. I used a piece of acetate packaging that I had been saving and my Butterfly Duo die from Sizzix.

I used Black Marble Dylusions Paint & a foam applicator with my die cut stencils. I then used some bright Distress Crayons to apply a bit colour to the edges of the butterflies.

I chose the Celebrate Life sentiment from a Dina Wakely Stamp Set to use and the Picket Fence Distress Ink worked great over the black paint.

To finish off my page I used extra fine point Sharpies in pink & purple to trace the outline of the butterflies and add some splatters.

Creative juices restored! I'm back and ready to get crafty.
